LIST: Enugu, Kebbi, Kano, Rivers, Ondo By-elections Winners

Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the winners of the by-elections held in Enugu, Kebbi, Kano, Rivers, and Ondo states on Saturday.

According to the results released thus far, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won the by-elections held in Enugu, Kebbi, Kano, and Ondo states, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched victory in the Rivers South-East by-election.

Below are the names of the candidates who have been declared winners:

Ikeje Asogwa

Asogwa was declared the winner of the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election. According to INEC, he polled 162,360 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chief Nestor Ezeme of PDP, who scored 9,299 votes. He will replace the late Senator Okey Ezea, who died on November 18, 2025.

Rabiu Garba Aiki

APC’s Aiki was declared the winner of the Zuru State Constituency by-election into the Kebbi State House of Assembly. He secured 4,887 votes to defeat Aliyu Galadima Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who scored 168 votes. The candidate will replace the deceased former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru.

Rabiu Shuaibu

Shuaibu of the APC was declared the winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State. He will replace the late Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Olaka Nwogu

PDP’s Nwogu was declared the winner of the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election after securing 7,961 votes to defeat Osar Erewari of the APC, who polled 1,647 votes. He will replace the late Senator Barry Mpigi, who died in February.

Dayo Faduyile

Faduyile emerged victorious in the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election after polling 68,474 votes to defeat Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), who scored 1,411 votes. He will replace former Senator Jimoh Ibrahim following his appointment as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

INEC has yet to announce the winner of the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election at press time.
