Former two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury stopped Mariusz Wach in Thailand on Friday to close in on a long-awaited showdown against Anthony Joshua.

The 37-year-old Briton outclassed his Polish opponent in Pattaya, systematically breaking down the 46-year-old until Wach’s corner surrendered in the seventh round.

The technical knockout victory marks Fury’s second consecutive win following a 16-month ring absence and clears his path toward an all-British mega-fight.

A victory for the 36-year-old Joshua will pave the way to seal the clash with Fury.

The Saudi Arabia contest marks Joshua’s return to professional boxing following a December car crash in Nigeria that killed two close friends, as well as his first fight since suffering a knockout loss to IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.
