Qatar has condemned renewed Iranian attacks on the territories of Jordan and Kuwait, warning that the escalation threatens regional security and undermines diplomatic efforts to ease tensions across the Middle East.
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Doha described the attacks as a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries and called for an immediate end to military operations.
“The State of Qatar strongly condemns the renewed attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Kuwait, considering them a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries, and a blatant breach of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of good neighborliness,” the ministry said.
Qatar warned that the continued exchange of attacks risked drawing the region deeper into conflict at a time when diplomatic efforts were focused on de-escalation.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that would complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.”
The ministry urged all parties to halt military action and return to negotiations.
“The Ministry stresses the need for an immediate and comprehensive cessation of all military operations and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region, refraining from any actions that could further expand the cycle of escalation, returning to the path of dialogue and negotiations, and adhering to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.”
Doha also reaffirmed its support for Jordan and Kuwait, pledging solidarity with both countries as they respond to the latest attacks.
Qatar’s statement comes as Iran launched fresh missile attacks targeting sites in Jordan and Kuwait, with Jordan reporting that its air defence systems intercepted several incoming missiles while Kuwait confirmed that an Iranian strike hit a Chinese-owned facility.
The renewed attacks followed a new round of U.S. military strikes against Iranian targets, further intensifying an already volatile regional conflict.
The latest violence forms part of a wider escalation involving Iran, the United States and several countries across the Middle East.
Hostilities intensified after Iranian attacks on U.S. military facilities prompted large-scale American retaliatory strikes on targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Since then, the conflict has expanded beyond Iran and the United States, with missile and drone attacks affecting Jordan, Kuwait and other Gulf states.
Jordan has repeatedly activated its air defence systems to intercept missiles crossing its airspace, while Kuwait has reported damage to infrastructure from Iranian strikes.
The widening conflict has heightened fears of a broader regional war, disrupted maritime security in the Gulf and increased concerns over global energy supplies, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for international oil exports.
Qatar, which has traditionally positioned itself as a regional mediator, has consistently called for restraint and dialogue throughout the crisis.
The Gulf state has maintained that diplomatic engagement remains the only viable path to preventing further escalation and restoring stability across the region.
