The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) has declared the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s local government elections across the state.
EBSIEC Chairman Enyi Patrick announced the results on Sunday, saying the APC won all 13 local government areas and 171 wards contested in the election.
Patrick said the election was conducted peacefully across Ebonyi State.
The results give the APC a clean sweep of all the local government chairmanship and ward-level contests conducted by the state electoral commission.
Meanwhile, Governor Francis Nwifuru commended the peaceful conduct of the election and praised stakeholders for their participation in the exercise.

The governor also commended EBSIEC for maintaining order and ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Nwifuru cast his ballot at Edupfu Okemini Polling Unit 002 in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area.
Other stakeholders and political figures across the state also praised the voter turnout and the conduct of the election.
The poll was held across Ebonyi’s 13 local government areas and 171 political wards, with notable voter participation recorded across the state.
The outcome further consolidates the APC’s control of the local government structure in Ebonyi State following the council elections.
