The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to the abduction of a man at the Molege community in the Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s public relations officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
According to Jimoh, the suspects were arrested following sustained intelligence gathering and coordinated operations by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Akure.
The police said the victim, identified as Abubakar Abdullahim, was kidnapped at Molege, via Owo, on August 1, 2026.
One of the suspects, identified as Adamu Rabiu, was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following collaboration between the Ondo and Oyo State police commands.

The second suspect, Haruna Likita, was arrested around Ipele, via Owo, Ondo State, in connection with the same incident.
Jimoh said preliminary investigations had established links between the two suspects and Abdullahim’s abduction.
“During interrogation, both suspects made statements admitting their alleged involvement in the crime,” he said.
He added that their statements and other intelligence gathered were being investigated to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify other members of the syndicate.
The police said efforts were ongoing to uncover the wider network and operational structure of the group, with a view to arresting all those involved.
Jimoh said the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, Felix Ohagwu, urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to the police and other security agencies.
