Manchester United’s 15-year-old forward JJ Gabriel requested to leave the Premier League club on Tuesday, according to British media reports.
The prodigy made his first senior appearance off the bench in last month’s friendly against Atletico Madrid and trained with Michael Carrick’s squad.
Club officials had expected him to make his competitive senior debut in Wednesday’s League Cup third-round clash against Brighton at Old Trafford.
The exit request comes just days after Gabriel scored a hat-trick on his UEFA Youth League debut during a 5-0 victory over Sabah.

Following that match, academy coach Adam Lawrence praised the teenager, noting that key leaders across the organisation strongly back his development.
Despite Gabriel wiping all posts from his Instagram account—which boasts 844,000 followers—United management retains hope of convincing the young talent to stay at Old Trafford.
