President Bola Tinubu has urged young Nigerians to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to influence the country’s future, saying the outcome of the election would have a direct impact on their lives.
Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Tinubu described the PVC as a weapon young Nigerians could use to fight poverty.
“To the youth of Nigeria, I’m looking at you. This election is about you. It’s not on me. Your future depends on this election,” he said.
“This progress has no revival there. It is left for you to use the weapon you have. And that weapon is the PVC. If you have not collected yours, please go ahead and collect it. Please. I beg you.”

Tinubu said his administration was pursuing economic development and prosperity, which he described as the means of tackling poverty, saying, “The weapon you have against poverty is to elect progressive development of our economy. That is what I’m pursuing.”
He also criticised previous governments, saying they had left billions and trillions of naira in unpaid pensions and gratuities.
The president said retired engineers, welders and teachers were now receiving their pensions and gratuities, adding that his government was sharing prosperity across families.
“I love you all,” he told the crowd.
