ADC Secretary Links Insecurity to Nigeria's Food Crisis

African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi linked Nigeria’s soaring cost of living directly to persistent insecurity, declaring food inflation a paramount threat to national security.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on News Central’s Politics HQ, Abdullahi argued that hyperinflation has severely eroded purchasing power, leaving salaries like ₦500,000 with the functional purchasing value of ₦50,000 compared to previous administrations.

Abdullahi emphasised that food prices will continue to spike as long as violent bandits and terrorists prevent farmers from cultivating their crops.

Outlining the ADC’s national defence stance, he stated that the party will refuse to negotiate with or rehabilitate terrorists, viewing them as enemies determined to destroy public livelihoods.
