Atletico Madrid intensified the pressure on Manchester United manager Michael Carrick by defeating the Red Devils 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Pablo Barrios opened the scoring for the hosts within the first minute in Madrid, while Ademola Lookman secured the victory in the 79th minute shortly after United defender Leny Yoro received a red card.

The loss extended Manchester United’s winless streak to five matches across all competitions, leaving them with just one victory in their last seven outings.

In Norway, underdog Viking Stavanger held Bayern Munich to a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Viking stormed into a 2-0 first-half lead through Gianni Stensness and Peter Christiansen before Harry Kane scored twice and Luis Diaz added a third to turn the match around for Bayern.

Elsewhere across Europe, Arsenal eased past Lille 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium with three second-half goals from Jurrien Timber, Eberechi Eze, and Bukayo Saka.

Barcelona recovered from an early deficit in Istanbul to defeat Galatasaray 4-1, powered by dynamic second-half play from Lamine Yamal.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge claimed a dramatic 4-3 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro behind a Nicolo Tresoldi hat-trick; Villarreal overcame Napoli 3-1; and the Azerbaijani side Sabah earned a historic 2-0 win over Slavia Prague.
