No fewer than four people lost their lives in a road crash involving four vehicles at Agulu Lake on the Nanka-Agulu Road in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra on Friday night.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Anambra, Mrs Bridget Asekhauno, confirmed the tragic road accident to journalists in Awka on Saturday. No fewer than 19 people, including six male adults, 10 female adults and three male children, were involved in the accident.

According to Asekhauno, speeding and loss of control were the cause of the accident.

“There were no eyewitnesses to the crash as all the drivers fled the scene. However, observations by the FRSC rescue team from the Nanka outpost indicated that the bus was descending the hill at high speed, lost control and rammed into three other vehicles,” she said.

“Drive safely to stay alive; safety is everyone’s responsibility,” Asekhauno added.
