Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has received members of the Senator Magnus Abe-led Reconciliation Committee of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
The committee visited the governor on Sunday as part of efforts to strengthen reconciliation and foster greater political cooperation among stakeholders in Rivers State. Also present during the visit was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Kingsley Chinda.
The visit came days after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, disclosed during a media briefing that a reconciliation committee headed by Abe had been constituted as part of efforts to consolidate the Rainbow Coalition in the state.
Wike explained that the committee was established to engage political stakeholders and promote unity within the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development further highlights ongoing efforts by political stakeholders to broaden the coalition and reconcile competing interests across Rivers State.
Governor Fubara welcomed the committee at the Government House, where he was joined by other political stakeholders for a group photograph following the meeting.
The reconciliation initiative is expected to facilitate greater cooperation among coalition members and stakeholders as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
