Inter Milan have started their Serie A title defence with an emphatic 4-1 victory over promoted Monza on Saturday.
Hakan Calhanoglu opened the scoring after six minutes with a powerful strike from distance.
Monza, who returned to Serie A after one season in Serie B, levelled in the 29th minute through Gustavo Varela.
Inter regained the lead three minutes after half-time when Piotr Zielinski scored in the 48th minute.
Pio Esposito then extended Inter’s advantage eight minutes later with a backheel finish from Andy Diouf’s cross.
Yann Bisseck completed the scoring in the 63rd minute to give the Italian champions a convincing opening-day victory.
John Stones, one of three England internationals signed by Inter during the summer, made his debut after coming on as a late substitute.

Inter coach Cristian Chivu said his team improved after a difficult first half.
“We were a bit rusty during the first half, a bit too frantic as well. We regained our calm and clarity after the break”, Chivu told DAZN.
Elsewhere, last season’s surprise package Como were held to a 1-1 draw by Udinese.
Greece forward Tasos Douvikas scored in the second half to secure a point for Como, who will make their Champions League debut next month after finishing fourth last season under Cesc Fabregas.
Napoli, who finished second last season, visit Genoa later on Saturday under new coach Massimiliano Allegri.
AC Milan and Juventus will begin their campaigns on Sunday against Torino and Frosinone respectively, with both clubs looking to recover from disappointing seasons.
