Iran has stated that the decision to pursue a diplomatic resolution or return to open conflict rests entirely with the United States.
Tehran emphasised that while it is open to a negotiated settlement, the country is fully prepared for whichever path the U.S. chooses to take.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi informed diplomats that the “ball is in the United States’ court” regarding the future of their relationship.

He noted that Iran remains ready to defend its national interests and security, whether through continued confrontation or the resumption of diplomatic talks.
