The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested 262 suspected criminals, rescued 27 kidnapped victims and recovered 34 firearms nationwide.
The NPF disclosed the information on Sunday.
According to Force Public Relations Officer CSP Aniete Iniedu, the operations were conducted between September 5 and 11, 2026.
Police also recovered 375 rounds of live ammunition and 11 vehicles, while 11 armed suspects were reportedly neutralised during intelligence-led operations.
Iniedu said the arrests were linked to alleged offences including kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, banditry, cultism, human trafficking, drug peddling and vandalism.
The Force recorded 50 homicide incidents, 28 armed robbery cases, 27 kidnapping incidents, 22 banditry cases, 10 cultism-related incidents, eight gender-based violence cases and five terrorism-related incidents during the period.
In Delta State, police rescued 60-year-old Nduka Omoyi after a gun duel with his abductors.
In Abuja, operatives arrested a suspected armed robber linked to a home invasion where a woman was allegedly raped, and valuables were stolen.
Two suspects wanted over alleged kidnapping and banditry were also arrested in Kwara State, with police recovering N770,000, two smartphones, a locally made bulletproof vest and a power bank.
In Nasarawa State, police recovered a pump-action rifle after suspected armed robbers attacked a motorcyclist in Keana Local Government Area.
Four suspected bandits were reportedly neutralised in Sokoto State during an operation in Yadiya Village, while police recovered an AK-47 rifle and 28 rounds of ammunition.
Police also foiled a planned kidnapping operation in Akwa Ibom State after marine operatives raided a suspected kidnappers’ camp along the Calabar-Oron channel.
The suspects fled, but operatives recovered a pump-action gun, ammunition, two speedboats and four outboard engines.
In Kaduna State, police, vigilantes and local hunters raided suspected bandit camps, rescuing two kidnapped victims and reportedly neutralising two suspects.
However, three local hunters were fatally shot during the operation, while another sustained a gunshot injury.
In Katsina State, police reportedly neutralised one armed suspect during a gun duel and rescued a kidnapped victim from Kano State.
Police also recovered two motorcycles allegedly used by the bandits.
A joint operation in Gombe State led to the arrest of a suspected kidnap operative and the rescue of three victims, including a two-year-old child.
In Ebonyi State, police rescued Methodist clergyman Ndulo Amofia after he was allegedly abducted by two armed men in front of his church.
The police said the abductors abandoned Amofia and his vehicle after operatives tracked them, while efforts continued to arrest the fleeing suspects.
The Force said the results showed the effectiveness of its intelligence-led and community-based policing strategy.
It pledged to sustain nationwide operations and strengthen cooperation with communities and other security agencies to tackle kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and other crimes.
