One person has died after a four-storey building under construction collapsed on Ogbalu Street, Independence Layout in Enugu.
The structure reportedly collapsed at about 6 a.m. on Sunday while workers were sleeping on site.
Four workers were rescued from the rubble, while one body has been recovered.

The Enugu State Capital Territory said the rescued workers are receiving treatment at the state’s Teaching Hospital.
It added that one of the six people sleeping at the site had stepped out before the building collapsed.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Red Cross, the State Emergency Management Agency, the Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority, and police are involved in the rescue operation.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been established, as concerns grow over building safety and regulatory enforcement.
