Top dignitaries from Nigeria’s political and public spheres gathered in Lagos on Thursday for a church service held in honour of Anthony Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
The service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Trinity Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Anthony, a businessman, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 62, according to a statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family. The family described the deceased as a devoted Christian who made a positive impact on the lives of those who knew him.

Among the dignitaries who attended the service were former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola; former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi; and Florence Ajimobi, wife of late Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Others included former President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, and the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Kemi; his children; and his siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
Following the conclusion of the church service, the family proceeded with the private burial of the deceased.
