The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has arrested 33 members of a gang responsible for the attack on the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Eruku, in Kwara state.

The Public Relations officer at the force headquarters, Anthony Placid, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, April 14, that the suspects are part of 50 individuals linked to terrorism, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

NPF announced a significant breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against high-profile criminality, resulting in the arrest of fifty (50) suspects linked to terrorism, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

“Among the most notable successes is the dismantling of thirty-three (33) member gang responsible for acts of terrorism, cattle rustling, and the violent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State.”


He noted that they were arrested following a “strategic offensive against syndicates that have long threatened the peace of the nation” since January 2026.

Placid added that several principal suspects are ready for prosecution in courts, while the NPF is pursuing other accomplices and more illegal weapons.

“Several main suspects are ready for prosecution in courts of competent jurisdiction and the Force is actively pursuing other accomplices and more illegal weapons.”

Based on reports, on November 18, 2025, gunmen attacked the church, killing three worshippers and abducting 38 people. A video of the attack captured during a live stream showed worshippers conducting a service when gunshots were heard from around the church premises.
