President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the brief swearing-in took place at the Council Chamber in the presence of the ministers’ spouses and senior government officials.
Both appointees were nominated on May 5, 2026, after the resignation of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu and former Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue elective office.
The Senate confirmed the nominees the following day, May 6.

Enikanolaiye previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before his appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, filling the vacancy created after Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s elevation.
A seasoned diplomat from Igbagun, Kogi State, he has over three decades of experience in Nigeria’s foreign service, having held postings in several countries and rising to the position of Permanent Secretary before retiring in 2017.
Tegbe, who hails from Ibadan in Oyo State, brings more than 35 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors. A First-Class graduate in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, he also holds postgraduate degrees in business and public administration. He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) Africa, where he worked on major reform and fiscal policy projects.
Tinubu’s cabinet, first inaugurated on August 21, 2023, has undergone several adjustments since inception, including a major reshuffle in 2024 and multiple subsequent replacements and portfolio changes.
