Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said President Bola Tinubu has promised Nigerians that by the time he finishes his tenure in 2031, the country will never be the same again.

Akpabio spoke on Wednesday during the official commissioning of the Full Scope Development of Akinwumi Ajibola Street (ILS 16, 18 & 19) in the Gaduwa District of the Federal Capital Territory.

“He (Tinubu) has promised Nigerians that by the time he finishes in 2031, Nigeria will never be the same again. This is a man that has eyes for workaholics,” Akpabio said.

He said Tinubu had demonstrated his capacity for transformation during his time as Lagos State governor.

“I said it before that he started his transformative governance in Lagos state. And today, Lagos is one of the biggest cities in West Africa. I don’t think there’s any city like Lagos in terms of revenue generation, in terms of development,” Akpabio said.

Akpabio also praised the president’s infrastructure development, saying he is following Tinubu because the president “knows the road.”

He also noted that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike began his political journey with President Bola Tinubu because Tinubu “knows the road.”

“People are very proud of the activities of President Bola Tinubu. So when the boys are excited, and they say, ‘follow who? No road. Follow who? No road.’

“You (Wike) started by following somebody who knows the road. And that is President Bola Tinubu. Me, I’m following him because he knows the road,” Akpabio said.
