President Donald Trump vented his early election-night frustration by attacking Fox News on Truth Social while watching the US midterm election results unfold at the White House.

The president targeted the network in three separate messages, linking its recent viewership declines directly to a lack of loyalty toward his administration.

He claimed that “Fox News ratings are way down (27%!) because they’re spending too much time covering the Trump-deranged Dumocrats!”

In additional posts, Trump asserted that the network was “way down, not because of me, but because they are AGAINST me!” while dismissing one on-air host as “DUMB AS A ROCK” and criticising Fox’s voter polls as “always the worst.”

The angry online commentary preceded an election viewing reception hosted by the president in the East Room for cabinet members and administration officials.

Despite the tense posts, a White House official characterised the room’s atmosphere as “cautiously optimistic,” noting that “the president has left it all out on the field, and he’s done everything that was needed.”

Facing low approval ratings, economic frustration, and public concern over the conflict in Iran, Trump warned during a CBS telephone interview that he intends to act as “Mr Veto” to block legislation should Democrats gain control of Congress.
