US President Donald Trump has urged Israelis to vote for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the upcoming election, citing the US-Israel war against Iran as an example of their countries “winning together”.
“When you go to the Polls please remember that Bibi has been an outstanding Warrior Prime Minister,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname.

Trump’s endorsement came as Israeli election contender Gadi Eisenkot held his final major rally before Tuesday’s vote, pledging to unite a country divided under Netanyahu’s leadership.

Eisenkot has portrayed Netanyahu as unfit to lead, promising to establish a state commission of inquiry into the failures that preceded Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack.
Netanyahu, meanwhile, has centred his campaign on his security credentials.
Opinion polls had shown Netanyahu and Eisenkot running neck and neck before a ban on new polling took effect in the three days leading up to Tuesday’s election.
At his rally on Sunday, Eisenkot pledged to bridge divisions within Israeli society, emphasising “a commitment to security and the economy”.
“Our goal is not for one side to defeat the other. That is not our way,” he told an audience of hundreds.
“We will work to bring all Israelis together again — those who voted for us and those who did not.”,

Eisenkot, a relative newcomer to politics compared with Netanyahu, who has spent 30 years on the political scene, has drawn support with his promise to unite Israelis. His plain-spoken approach as a former army chief has also appealed to some voters.
In his speech, Eisenkot said he would “always look you in the eye and tell the truth”, while pledging to “take responsibility for both successes and failures”.
He also made a direct appeal to voters wavering in their support for Netanyahu’s Likud party, urging them to reconsider their choice.
“Deep down, you too know that Israel cannot go on like this,” he said. “Israel needs change.”
Netanyahu’s critics have accused him of prioritising his political survival over the country’s broader interests. He is also facing trial on corruption charges, which he denies
