Trump Threatens Iran With 'Hell', Hints at Talks

President Donald Trump revealed that US and Iranian officials held three hours of talks on Tuesday during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, marking their first in-person discussions in months.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to discuss diplomatic conditions, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media reported that Tehran demanded an immediate end to the US naval blockade and the unfreezing of Iranian assets, while Witkoff described the mediator-led discussions as “constructive and promising.”

The diplomatic breakthrough occurred alongside a speech in which Trump questioned whether to make a deal with Tehran or “annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly.”

Addressing reporters later, Trump stated that the two sides held “a very good meeting, a very productive meeting” and scheduled further talks in the near future.

During his UN visit, Trump also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding energy strike halts and signed a security agreement with Denmark and Greenland to construct two US military bases.
