United States (US) President Donald Trump has said he has a big decision to make regarding Iran.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday, in New York, Trump said the choice is between making a deal with Iran or annihilating the Islamic Republic.
He asked if a deal will be made that will allow Iran to rebuild and become one of the greatest countries in the Middle East and the world, or if he should annihilate the country quickly.

Trump said Iran is waiting for the U.S. midterm elections in November before making a deal. He said Iran is watching to see how he performs.
“They’re waiting to see how I do in the midterm election. What they don’t realize is that I’m not running. The Republican Party is running, and I’ll be helping them,” Trump said.
He said the election will not affect his decision on Iran, stressing that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
Trump also thanked the UN Security Council for passing a resolution condemning Iran’s attacks on commercial ships. He called on the council to maintain pressure on Tehran.
However, the President did not give details of what a deal with Iran would look like, or what conditions he wants on Iran’s nuclear, missile and drone programmes, or on the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump is also open to meeting an Iranian delegation in New York on the sidelines of UNGA, but Iran is yet to confirm if it will accept the meeting.
