President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Gulf states affected by recent attacks linked to the US–Israel–Iran conflict.

He commended the affected countries for showing restraint and resilience, stressing that Nigeria remains committed to promoting global peace and stability.

Tinubu made this statement at the State House in Abuja during the presentation of letters of credence by seven ambassadors and two high commissioners, including representatives from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

He told the envoys that Nigeria strongly supports peace, saying the world requires calm, harmony and mutual respect and that the country stands with nations working towards stability in the region.

“Let me first of all congratulate all of you and use this opportunity to say that the Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the face of the recent attacks and say that we will always strive for peace and stability across the world,” Tinubu said.

“The world needs tranquillity, peace and love. We share that solidarity with all of you in that region,’’ he said.

The President also used the occasion to welcome the diplomats officially and expressed confidence in stronger bilateral relations. He described their appointments as a reflection of their experience and service.

Tinubu assured them that Nigeria values its friendships and remains committed to deepening cooperation for shared prosperity and national development.

He further explained that his administration is implementing economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a competitive global investment hub, open to innovation and partnership.

He encouraged the envoys to view Nigeria as a strategic partner ready to collaborate on trade, development, and governance.

On security matters, Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to ECOWAS principles, regional stability and constitutional order, particularly in the Sahel region.

Tinubu also noted that global challenges require joint action, adding that Nigeria will work with international partners to promote a fairer and more secure global system.

The visiting ambassadors, led by Qatar’s envoy, thanked the President for the warm reception and pledged stronger diplomatic ties with Nigeria.
