Linda Noskova has broken into the WTA Top 10 for the first time in her career, climbing five places to a career-high world number seven after claiming her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon over the weekend.
The 21-year-old Czech now sits just one spot behind fellow countrywoman Karolina Muchova, the very player she defeated in Saturday’s final at the All England Club.
Noskova squandered five match points during a rollercoaster second set before eventually closing out the contest 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to seal her third career WTA crown and first major triumph.
The victory caps a breakthrough fortnight for Noskova, who has now shown she can handle the pressure of a Grand Slam final even after letting a seemingly comfortable position slip. Recovering from that setback to win the decider speaks to a mental toughness that should worry the rest of the tour heading into the hard-court swing.

Elsewhere in the updated rankings, Aryna Sabalenka retains her grip on the world number one spot despite a shock last-16 exit at Wimbledon at the hands of Japan’s Naomi Osaka. Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina holds second, even after bowing out in the third round to Belgium’s Elise Mertens.
American Jessica Pegula, who reached the quarter-finals in London, edges up one place to third, while her compatriot Coco Gauff enjoyed the biggest jump inside the top five — rising three spots to fourth on the back of her run to the semi-finals.
With Wimbledon now behind them, all eyes turn to how these ranking shifts will shape the seeding picture for the North American hard-court season ahead.
