The younger sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, Atsi, has died from gunshot injuries sustained in a police accidental discharge.

Our sources report that Atsi passed away in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving treatment following the incident.

The unfortunate event occurred on December 5 when gunmen on motorcycles, suspected to be kidnappers, attacked the convoy of Governor Kefas’ mother along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

A police escort in the convoy reportedly attempted to fire at the gunmen who tried to block the vehicle carrying the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas. Tragically, the bullet accidentally struck Atsi, 44, who was seated next to her mother.

Atsi was initially rushed to the Teaching Hospital in Wukari but was later transferred to Abuja for advanced medical care.

A source close to the Taraba State Government confirmed Atsi’s death to Daily Trust but requested anonymity, stating, “Please don’t quote me because it has not yet been made public.”
