Nigerian Senate Declares Edo Central Senatorial Seat Vacant

On Wednesday, the Senate declared the seat of the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, vacant.

The upper chamber called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to organise a by-election to fill the vacancy.

Okpebholo’s seat, representing the Edo Central Senatorial District, became vacant following his election and inauguration as governor in November.
