Levi Obieze, the popular native doctor widely known as “E Dey Show,” who was earlier reported to have been taken into custody by the Nigeria Immigration Service, has now been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command.
Confirming the development, Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, stated that the suspect has since been transferred to the Enugu State Police Command where he will face prosecution.
The Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, has handed over notorious crime suspect Obi Levi Obieze to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation.
In a statement released on Friday via X, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said:
“ONGOING: @nigimmigration, Lagos State Command hands over wanted suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, to @LagosPoliceNG at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja,” Hundeyin announced.
Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, was apprehended on May 29, 2025, by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Gbaji checkpoint along Badagry-Seme Road while attempting to escape the country on a motorbike.
He was arrested following credible intelligence linking him to the abduction, kidnapping, and alleged ritual killing of a 13-year-old girl in Isiagu Community, Enugu State.
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, on Thursday.
“The suspect is a male individual wanted by the Nigeria Police Enugu State Command for alleged involvement in abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing,” the statement read.
News Central learnt that Obieze, a native doctor from Umuajor village in Enugu, was part of a gang of three men who abducted the victim on May 27, 2025. The teenager was walking with her father to the farm. The girl was later rescued from a shrine allegedly linked to Obieze.
NIS stated that Obieze’s identity was confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession. He also reportedly confessed to the crimes during initial questioning.
