Former Delta State Governor James Ibori said Oghara residents are grateful to the state government for commissioning the Oghareki Model Technical College, calling the project a welcome development for the community.
Speaking during the commissioning on Friday, Ibori said the people of Oghara appreciate the state’s investment in the area and see the new institution as a sign that their needs are being heard. He noted that residents widely share this gratitude, having followed the project closely and now seeing it come to fruition.
The commissioning of the Oghareki Model Technical College is expected to give young people in the community, and those in surrounding areas, access to practical, skills-based education.

Technical colleges are widely regarded as a pathway to employment and self-reliance, equipping students with trades and vocational competencies that are in demand across many sectors of the economy.
Beyond expressing thanks, Ibori said the community is also praying for the governor. According to him, residents are asking for the governor’s good health and continued success in office, so he can keep delivering projects that improve the lives of the people of Delta State.
For many in Oghara, the new college represents more than a building and stands as evidence of government presence and a promise of opportunity for the future.
