Uganda’s Judiciary has deployed 18 newly appointed judicial officers and transferred 48 others to bring “justice services closer to the people”.

The exercise, announced on Saturday, involves judicial officers at the rank of registrars and magistrates who have been posted to various court stations nationwide.
The Judiciary said the deployments and transfers are intended to strengthen service delivery and enhance the administration of justice at court stations nationwide.

The Chief Justice, Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo, described the postings as an opportunity for Judicial Officers to innovate and improve service delivery.

Owiny-Dollo urged the officers to leave the stations they have been posted to in better condition than they found them.

“Leave a positive mark as a beacon of your service in that area of call,” Owiny-Dollo said.
He then called upon the newly deployed and transferred officers, as well as all Staff of the Judiciary, to remain steadfast in the fight against corruption, tardiness, and abuse of office.

“Our people are thirsty for justice, and we have all it takes to give them quality justice.”

Acting Chief Registrar HW Lamunu Pamella Ocaya announced the deployments and transfers, stating that the new deployments will take effect immediately and the transfers will take effect on January 12, 2026.

Ocaya said the exercise aims at enhancing efficiency, improving court performance, and strengthening access to justice for court users across the country.
