Nollywood Mourns as Allwell Ademola Laid to Rest

The late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has been buried in Lagos.

The 49-year-old reportedly suffered a heart attack at her home and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed her death.

Her passing dealt a major blow to the Nollywood industry, where colleagues and fans admired her talent and lasting contributions to film.

On Thursday, mourners gathered at the Blueroof Auditorium of Lagos State Television in Ikeja for a service of songs, marking the first major moment of remembrance and shared grief.

After the indoor programme, attendees paid their respects during a candlelight procession.

The burial service took place on Friday at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.

At the graveside, clergymen led hymns and prayers, while family members sprinkled sand on the coffin as a final farewell.

Several Nollywood stars attended the ceremony, including Toyin Abraham, Afeez Owo, Saidi Balogun, Yetunde Wunmi, and Adedoyin Kukoyi.

Allwell Ademola earned recognition as one of Nollywood’s most versatile figures, excelling as an actress, writer, and director.

She began acting at a young age and rose to prominence in 2008, going on to feature in notable films such as Ile Wa, Third Eye, Murder At The Bar, and Mimi’s Voice.
