Senegalese police say they have arrested 14 people in connection with an alleged cross-border child exploitation network operating between Senegal and France.
The police, in a statement on Sunday, said investigators “carried out a major operation, dismantling a transnational organised criminal group whose members are based primarily between France and Senegal.”
The 14 suspects were brought before a judge on Friday and are facing charges that include allegations of “organised paedophilia, pimping, rape of minors under 15, sodomy, and intentional transmission of HIV/AIDS“.
Police also revealed that all of the people accused are citizens of Senegal.

The police statement claimed that the group, which has been in operation since 2017, coerced young boys into engaging in “unprotected and filmed sex” with men, the majority of whom were HIV-positive.
Authorities also alleged that four of the suspects acted on the instructions of a French national who was arrested in northern France in April 2025, reportedly “in exchange for money transfers.”
Police said searches were carried out in several neighbourhoods of Dakar and in the city of Kaolack, about 200 kilometres southeast of the capital.
