The Iranian Revolutionary Guards issued a severe warning on Wednesday, threatening to destroy the oil and gas infrastructure of neighbouring Gulf states if Iran’s own energy sector faces further attacks.

In a statement released through state media, the military group characterised these regional energy assets as “American interests” and claimed that a retaliatory response to previous strikes against Iranian infrastructure is already being carried out.

The escalation follows recent hostilities that have targeted Iran’s critical energy facilities.

Tehran warned that any repeated aggression would result in a “much more severe” military response, vowing that strikes against its neighbours and their allies would not cease until their energy sectors are entirely incapacitated.

This rhetoric has significantly heightened concerns regarding the stability of global energy markets and the security of the Persian Gulf.
