Obi Accepts NDC Ticket, Picks Kwankwaso as Running Mate

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has officially accepted the presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for the 2027 general elections and announced former Kano State Governor and Senator Musa Kwankwaso as his vice-presidential candidate.

Obi made the announcement at the party’s special convention in Abuja on Saturday, where NDC National Leader Senator Henry Seriake Dickson presented him with the party’s flag.

The event drew party chieftains, including former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege and other stakeholders from across the country.

In his acceptance speech, Obi expressed gratitude to party members and called for unity ahead of the elections.
