Morocco has reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 3-0 victory over Canada on Saturday in Houston.
Canada became the first co-host nation to exit the tournament after a performance from the 2022 semi-finalists.
Morocco will now face either France or Paraguay in the next round.
The match was tightly contested in the first half, with more yellow cards than shots on goal.
Canada, which was led by coach Jesse Marsch, started strongly and created early chances but failed to score.

Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made an important early save to deny Tani Oluwaseyi after 10 minutes.
Canada also missed a clear header from a corner as they pressed for the opener.
However, Morocco took control after the break.
Midfielder Azzedine Ounahi scored twice, first in the 50th minute and again in the 82nd minute, both from first-time finishes.
His first goal came after a free-kick from Achraf Hakimi found him unmarked outside the box.
Substitute Soufiane Rahimi added a third goal in the final minute of stoppage time (90+8).
The match was played in front of 68,777 fans in Houston, where Canada was heavily supported but could not break through Morocco’s defence.
Canada reached the Round of 16 after making history with their first-ever World Cup win and qualification for the knockout stage.
Despite a strong start, they were eventually punished by Morocco’s experience and clinical finishing.
Morocco’s victory continues its impressive tournament run as they move into the quarter-finals.
