Nigerian singer Davido has said Barbadian superstar Rihanna remains his dream collaborator, even as he acknowledged her shift away from recording music to focus on her business empire.
During a Twitch live stream interview with host @theboyfromojo, the Afrobeats artist said a partnership with Rihanna would produce “dope music” but expressed doubt about its likelihood.
“Rihanna is my dream collab, but she’s not into music again. She makes billions from her makeup business now,” Davido said.
The Grammy-nominated singer, known for hits including “Unavailable” and “I Know Who I Be,” said the nine-time Grammy winner is more focused on her Fenty Beauty and fashion ventures than on returning to the studio.

Rihanna has not released a full album since “Anti” in 2016, instead building a lucrative beauty and fashion empire that has cemented her status as one of the world’s wealthiest musicians-turned-entrepreneurs.
The mutual admiration between the two artists is well documented.
Rihanna has previously named Davido’s track “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys, as her favourite song and said she had the record on repeat.
Davido responded to the compliment by affectionately calling her “my Ri Ri.”
The Nigerian artist has built an impressive portfolio of international collaborations, working with Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and DaBaby.
However, he has previously indicated he is not actively pursuing other American collaborations.
