Nigeria’s Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has accumulated enough achievements across security, agriculture, and the economy to secure re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Monday to members of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions in Uyo, Akpabio argued that Tinubu inherited an “economy in shambles” where 27 states struggled to pay salaries and pensions but successfully turned the situation around through financial re-engineering.

“We have a President who thinks outside the box, bringing about innovation,” Akpabio noted. “In 2027, Nigerians will separate the chaff from the grains and re-elect President Tinubu for a second term in office.”

He challenged opposition figures to match the administration’s track record, stating that opponents “cannot even tell us what he did when he was governor.”

Akpabio also commended the 10th National Assembly for passing impactful legislation, specifically praising the impact of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund).

Committee Chairman Senator Dandutse Mohammed backed Akpabio’s remarks, stating, “Nigerian parents are happy because of TETFund and NELFund,” and highlighting education as the primary engine for national growth.
