The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled a two-day maintenance at its Sagamu Transmission Substation, which will affect electricity supply to areas within the community and neighbouring regions in Ogun State.
TCN, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the annual preventive maintenance on two 30MVA, 132/33kV power transformers at the substation began on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and will continue on Friday.
According to the company, the exercise will run for seven hours each day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TCN said its maintenance crew was carrying out routine checks on the T1 and T2 transformers “to ensure optimal performance and reliability.”
The exercise has already affected the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company’s (IBEDC) ability to receive electricity from the T1 transformer for distribution to customers in REAL and Sagamu.
Customers supplied through the T2 transformer, including those in CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock, are expected to experience interruptions on Friday during the maintenance period.
TCN said the affected areas would experience the disruption because IBEDC would be unable to off-take electricity from the relevant transformer while the maintenance work was underway.
The company apologised for the inconvenience the exercise would cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.
The maintenance is part of TCN’s routine preventive programme to improve the reliability and performance of its transmission infrastructure.
