Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that a renewed conflict with Israel and the United States would not alter Tehran’s policies.
His comments came as tensions rose over renewed threats of military action against Iran, with US President Donald Trump saying Washington could launch another operation similar to its previous campaign against the country.
Speaking at a televised event in Tehran, Araghchi said Iran was already considering the post-war period and would maintain its current position regardless of whether fighting resumed.

He argued that previous military confrontations had failed to change Iran’s stance and said Tehran expected any future conflict to produce a similar outcome.
“Recently, there has been talk of a new war, but I am already thinking about the post-war period. Whether there is war or not, our policies remain the same, Araghchi said.
“They have already done so twice and have seen the results. If they want to try again, they know they will achieve no different outcome from those of the past.”
An April 8 ceasefire between Iran and the United States ended the most intense fighting, although sporadic exchanges continued around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy supplies. The military tensions have eased in recent weeks.

Iran has claimed control over the strait since the war began and has repeatedly targeted vessels attempting to pass through without its authorisation, drawing opposition from Washington and other countries in the region.
The United States has responded by maintaining a naval counter-blockade around Iranian ports.
In June, Iran and the United States agreed to a memorandum of understanding outlining a path towards a permanent settlement of the conflict. The agreement later broke down after both sides accused the other of violating its terms.
Tehran has since called for the agreement to be revived as part of efforts to end the conflict.
Araghchi said the war had altered conditions in the region, including the operation of shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

He also called for the removal of foreign military forces from the region, arguing that lasting peace and stability would require their complete withdrawal.
“The current war has changed everything. We must accept that new realities are taking hold. Shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be the same, and the management of the strait will no longer be the same,”Araghchi said.
“To achieve peace and stability, our region must move towards the complete absence of foreign forces.”
