Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz completed an unbeaten season in ATP 500-level events on Sunday after sweeping Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 to capture the Vienna Open title.
The victory extended Alcaraz’s career record against the Australian to seven consecutive wins, closing out the match in 1 hour and 27 minutes.
Alcaraz dominated key moments in the opening set and broke De Minaur’s serve in the final game of the second set to seal the win without dropping a single set across five matches in Vienna.
De Minaur entered the final on a 10-match indoor unbeaten streak and pushed seven games in the first set to deuce, but Alcaraz countered with aggressive play and sharp focus.

The win marks the 28th career title for the seven-time Grand Slam champion, adding to his earlier 500-level victories in Tokyo and Doha this season.
Following a five-month absence due to a wrist injury and a quarterfinal exit at the US Open, Alcaraz highlighted the victory as a major step forward in building confidence on indoor hard courts.
