Novak Djokovic has broken Roger Federer’s Wimbledon singles match-win record after a hard-fought victory over Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin on Sunday.
Seven-time champion Novak Djokovic has defeated Safiullin 7-6 (8/6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to reach a historic milestone at the All England Club.
The win has taken Djokovic to 106 men’s singles victories at Wimbledon, moving him ahead of Federer’s long-standing record.
Only Martina Navratilova has now recorded more singles wins at Wimbledon overall.

Djokovic has reached his 17th Wimbledon quarter-final and his ninth in a row, extending his dominance at the tournament.
The 39-year-old has continued his pursuit of a record 25th Grand Slam title, which would break the all-time record.
Djokovic has admitted he experienced moments of frustration during the match but has said he is focused on improving as the tournament progresses.
The Serbian star has struggled at times in earlier rounds but has managed to recover and stay on course for another Wimbledon title challenge.
He has now set up a potential semi-final clash with defending champion Jannik Sinner.
Djokovic has described his performance as a “survive to thrive” effort as he continues his Wimbledon journey.
