Four members of the Kano State House of Representatives have defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The lawmakers are Sani Wakili, representing the Minjibir/Ungogo federal constituency; Muktar Zakari, representing Tarauni; Umar Datti, representing Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam; and Abdulhakeem Ado, representing the Wudil/Garko constituency.
Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas announced their defection during plenary on Wednesday.

The lawmakers attributed their decisions to internal crises within their former parties.
The ADC has recorded a series of defections in recent weeks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
