Nigeria has held separate diplomatic engagements with Israel and Côte d’Ivoire, focusing on deepening bilateral cooperation in security, trade, agriculture, technology and regional development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said.
Foreign Minister Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu met with Israeli Ambassador Michael Freeman and Ivorian Ambassador Kalilou Toure on Tuesday, according to statements issued on Wednesday.
During the session with Freeman, the Nigerian minister reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness for “constructive engagement and sustained diplomatic dialogue” with Israel.

The Israeli envoy delivered a congratulatory message from his foreign minister and invited Odumegwu Ojukwu for an official visit to Israel.
The conversation touched on the volatile situation in the Middle East, with Freeman briefing Nigeria’s top diplomat on “the humanitarian and security implications of the conflict.”
Both sides also discussed prospects for enhanced cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, innovation, technology and security.
Freeman said Israeli expertise could help Nigeria achieve its food security goals.
On the multilateral front, the two officials discussed working together within the UN system and the World Health Organisation.
