The House of Representatives on Monday passed a bill to repeal and enact the 2025 Appropriation Act, extending the implementation of the capital component from June 30 to September 30.
The bill was presented by the Leader of the House, Rep. Julius Ihonvbere (APC-Edo), at an emergency plenary in Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
In his lead debate, Ihonvbere urged members to support passage of the bill to enable the government to complete ongoing projects nationwide.
The House, after accelerated consideration, unanimously voted and passed the bill for first, second and third readings.

In his ruling, Speaker of the House Rep. Abbas Tajudeen adopted the amended bill as the working document of the House.
The bill, in concurrence with the Senate, will be sent to the president for his assent, NAN reported.
The extension allows the government an additional three months to execute capital projects originally scheduled for completion by the end of June.
