Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement shared on Wednesday, described the attacks as a “grave violation of the sovereignty of both countries.”

“The State considers these attacks a grave violation of the sovereignty of both countries and a blatant breach of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, as well as the principles of international humanitarian law, specifically the principle of distinction, the prohibition against targeting civilians and civilian targets in armed conflicts, and the prohibition against indiscriminate attacks,” the statement read.
The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s position against attacks on civilian targets and infrastructure, stressing the need to shield the region from “unprovoked attacks” and to de-escalate tensions in order to restore regional and global security and stability.
Qatar also expressed solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, saying it supports “all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security” and wishes the injured victims a speedy recovery.
