Barcelona forward Raphinha scored two second-half goals to propel the club to a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday, ending the English side’s perfect start to the Champions League campaign.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the seventh minute after pouncing on an early defensive error, marking his 14th career goal in the competition and setting a new record for the most Champions League goals scored by a teenager.
Raphinha then extended the lead following the break, capitalising on passes from Fermin Lopez and Joao Cancelo to notch his 19th goal of the season across all competitions.

The match opened on a sombre note, as officials refrained from playing the Champions League anthem out of respect for Tenerife striker Jesus De Miguel, who died earlier Tuesday following an on-pitch collision.

Raphinha dedicated the victory to De Miguel’s family during post-match interviews, offering his condolences.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised his team’s defensive cohesion as they secured their first Champions League clean sheet in 19 matches, while Villa manager Unai Emery acknowledged the defeat as a valuable learning opportunity for his squad.
