Nigeria’s Labour Party (LP) has declared its full operational readiness for the upcoming election cycle, confirming that it has successfully fielded candidates across every elective position nationwide.
Speaking at the National Chairmen’s Dialogue organised by News Central TV on Thursday, LP Deputy National Chairman Salisu Muhammad stated that the party’s election preparations have shifted into top gear as campaigns kick off across the country.
Muhammad highlighted the party’s previous electoral performance and expressed confidence that structural adjustments will yield even stronger results at the polls.
“You recall very well the superlative performance of the party in the last election,” Muhammad said. “We are determined to improve on that record. It’s a learning curve.”
To build on its momentum, the party has introduced strategic reform measures aimed at maximising voter turnout, with a primary focus on women, young voters, and industrial workers.
“My party, the Labour Party, we have made a lot of innovations to ensure that this time around the mobilisation is really total and complete,” Muhammad explained, noting that industrial workers have been sufficiently sensitised to mobilise en masse.
The party leadership also outlined plans to protect its votes at polling units nationwide.
Muhammad stated that recent voter registration drives have prepared supporters to safeguard their ballots on election day.
“This time around, when they vote, they are going to stay there to ensure that their votes are not diverted, and they are counted, and they must get the result that they voted for,” he added.
