Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured residents that his administration will deepen ongoing development efforts in infrastructure, housing, healthcare, and security, saying the “best is yet to come” as he marked seven years in office.
The governor reviewed his administration’s progress since 2019 in a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, noting that the state still has more work ahead.
Sanwo-Olu, in his anniversary message, said Lagos residents should expect sustained delivery across key sectors, stressing that the government would not slow down on ongoing projects.
He reaffirmed commitments to expanding roads, delivering affordable housing, improving healthcare services, strengthening education, and ensuring a safer environment for businesses and residents.
“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come.
“We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” the governor said.

The governor expressed appreciation to Lagosians for their support and cooperation over the years, describing the administration’s progress as a product of shared effort, resilience, and public trust.
He recalled that the administration began with a clear vision to build a more functional Lagos, adding that citizen support had been central to achievements recorded across infrastructure, transport, education, youth empowerment, and urban renewal initiatives.
“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all.
“Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership you have shown.
“Your support has been the bedrock of every milestone we have achieved, from improved infrastructure and healthcare, to education reforms, urban mass transport systems, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of our state,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu noted that despite global and domestic economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, his government had remained focused on implementing its THEMES+ development agenda.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu, saying the Nigerian government’s Renewed Hope Agenda had complemented development efforts in Lagos across critical sectors.
According to him, the administration has recently presented its achievements to residents through a series of ministerial briefings, aimed at promoting transparency and accountability.
The governor further urged continued collaboration between government, the private sector, and development partners to sustain growth and development in the state.
He also appreciated civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to Lagos State’s progress over the past seven years.
