Fuel, Food Prices in Kenya Remain High

Kenyans are unlikely to enjoy Christmas, as food and fuel prices remain relatively high in the second week of December 2022.

Those planning to travel face high transport costs due to the relatively high pump prices even as the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced on Wednesday, December 14, that pump prices will remain unchanged.

Motorists in Nairobi access a litre of super petrol at KSh 177.30, diesel at KSh 162 and those using kerosene buy it at KSh 145.94.

The same goes for the prices of food too as market surveys showed that food prices across major supermarkets remained relatively high ahead of the Christmas festivities.
