Founder of the David Christian Centre, Kingsley Okonkwo, has confirmed he plans to get another tattoo after public reactions to his recent Bible-inspired tattoo.
Okonkwo revealed the tattoo in a video shared on his Instagram page to celebrate his 50th birthday.
The post, which included a Bible verse, drew mixed reactions online, with some questioning whether tattoos align with Christian beliefs.
Speaking on News Central’s entertainment programme, Take 3, Okonkwo said he did not expect the tattoo to generate controversy.
He noted that the backlash was rooted in personal opinions rather than scripture.
“There’s no scripture that says a child of God cannot have tattoos,” Okonkwo said.

“So people are doing personal preference or what the Holy Spirit told them or what their church policy is. They want to impose this on other people, and that’s not how this works.”
Okonkwo also demanded that critics provide concrete reasons for condemning tattoos, saying, “Somebody needs to sit me down and spell out, ‘Oh, tattoos are bad because if somebody draws an ink on their body, their brain goes bad.'”
“If somebody draws an ink on their body, their character suddenly goes bad, and they must give me some either scriptural proof or scientific proof or something to back this thought up.
“But nobody, everybody shouting tattoos, nobody can tell me why tattoo is bad. It’s just bad because, no reason. I can link anything to a wayward life.”

The pastor noted that tattoos do not determine whether a person is good or bad.
“I can give you 10 good people who have tattoos,” he stated.
“You can also give me 10 bad people who have tattoos. So what are we going to do now?”
When asked if he would get another tattoo soon, Okonkwo said, “Oh, definitely. Definitely.”
